Gradebook Setup

Access Grade Categories

All graded activities are categorized into sessions and units. Each graded activity has several display options.

STEP 1: Click the Gradebook Setup link.

You can also select Grades link given below the Participants link


STEP 2: Click the Setup tab.


STEP 3: To edit a graded activity, scroll down to the activity name, scroll to the left, and then click the Edit icon and select Edit Settings option from the drop-down.


STEP 4: Make any changes necessary in the fields.


STEP 5: Activities can be hidden/unhidden from student view by selecting or deselecting the Hidden checkbox.

STEP 6: Activities can be locked/unlocked from student access by selecting or deselecting the Locked checkbox.


STEP 7: Click the Save Changes button at the bottom when you are satisfied with your changes.


Edit Category

STEP 1: Activities can be grouped into categories and sub-categories.

STEP 2:  Near the category or session name, click on Edit icon and select Edit Settings from the drop-down.


STEP 3: Enter a Category name in the Category name field and Aggregation field in Grade Category.

STEP 4: Fill in the required fields in Category total section.

  • Grade type: Default to Value
  • Maximum grade: Key a maximum grade value
  • Minimum grade: Key a minimum grade value
  • Hidden: Check box to prevent students from seeing item in their course
  • Locked: Check box to prevent students from accessing item in their course


STEP 5: Click Save Changes button.
